We live in the last days – a time when lawlessness would abound according to Jesus. Lawlessness means not only breaking God’s laws, but being without law. Today in our society, moral relativism is in, and the Ten Commandments are out. When witnessing it is imperative that we call sin by the name that God calls it. Only in this way can we expose how God views lawlessness and lead souls to Christ’s righteousness.
For example, the world says “I’m having an affair”, but the Bible calls this adultery. The world says “We’re just having a fling”, but God’s calls it fornication. The world says “I’m just stretching the truth a little”, but God calls it a lie and warns that “all liars shall have their part in the lake” of fire. The world says “I’m pro-choice”, but the Bible says you’re guilty of murder. The world says “Let’s party and get high”, but the Word of God warns that drunkards and sorcerers shall not inherit the Kingdom of God. The world says “All roads lead to God”, but Jesus said He was the only way to heaven. By contradicting Jesus, they are calling God a liar.
People will get upset – even angered – when you call sin by name. However if they think God winks at their transgressions, they will never repent and get saved. You have spoken the truth in love. And remember, identifying sin as God sees it, may just awaken a soul and save them from the flames of God’s eternal wrath.
