How to Answer Difficult Questions
Listen to the audio

The apostle Peter reminds us: “Be ready always to give an answer to every man that ask(s) you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.”[1] Often when witnessing, you will be asked difficult Bible questions. If you do not know the answer, a reasonable reply is to ask if you could search the Word and get back to them later. They will respect your honesty, and you can then move on in the discussion. You may also want to have in your library a handbook on Bible difficulties. Most questions have a simple resolution and these handbooks offer solutions to hundreds of Bible questions.

There are questions however, which are unanswered in the Bible. What do you do then? For these, establish the reliability of God’s Word. For example, we know that the Bible is infallible by its fulfilled prophecies. There are dozens of prophecies concerning Christ alone that came true when He was on earth. In addition, there are hundreds of prophecies concerning Israel and the nations that have come to pass. Furthermore, the Scriptures are unique in their continuity: 66 books written by over 40 authors spanning 1600 years, yet the Bible maintains a unified theme. In addition, Scripture’s historical accuracy, archaeological evidence, scientific foreknowledge, and ability to transform lives, sets it high above all other literature.

By proving that God’s Word is inspired we can assure others that all apparent contradictions are resolvable if we had full understanding. One day soon we will understand completely. Until then, show the world that we have many infallible proofs demonstrating the Bible’s Divine inspiration.
