If you’re a Christian, you are Christ’s witness. Know that the world is watching you with a magnifying glass. Here are some things not to do when witnessing. Do not preach while you’re on the clock. Your employer rightly expects eight hours of work for eight hours of pay. If someone does ask you about the Lord during work hours, give a brief answer and then ask if you can continue the discussion after hours.
Don’t be a bull in a china shop. If when you share, they ask you to stop, then stop. If they keep talking, listen and pray, and then ask if it’s ok if you can share with them what the Bible says. If they refuse, remember Jesus never forced the gospel on anyone.
Avoid all appearance of evil, such as a guy approaching a sole girl, or approaching a child, or being in circumstances that look suspicious.
Do not be arrogant, but rather humble and gentle. Make yourself of no reputation. Don’t try to vindicate yourself, but share the truth in love. Prideful attitudes or mannerisms will negate your witness.
Most of all have no confidence in the flesh. Good salt is transparent. They should see Jesus, we must decrease. And finally, remember we all stumble in many things. Ask God for forgiveness and pray for the Lord to open another opportunity. He will.
