I like to use last days’ Bible prophecies to pique the interest of those I witness too. Many people have little or no Bible background, and many have limited knowledge of history. However, most are aware of some current events. So by sharing prophecies that anticipate current events, you gain their attention.
For example, the Bible foretold that a global economic system would exist in the last days. This was unthinkable 2,000 years ago. Yet today, with our computer-driven networked society, and the push toward globalization, this is now a real possibility.
Amazingly, global communications were also foreseen. Revelation 11 states that the entire world will “see” certain events unfold. The invention of the television and the deployment of global satellite networks during the 20th century allow news to travel the world at the speed of light for the first time ever. Remember that in the apostle John’s day, news traveled at the speed of horseback.
Another amazing prophecy, that all can see, was spoken by Jesus. He said that mankind would be capable of destroying all life during the Tribulation. Yet, when Jesus made this prophecy the armaments of His day were swords and spears. But today, with nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons, it is possible to wipe out all flesh on planet earth.
Once you have their attention, urge them to seek the Lord while there is still time.
