Jesus rebuked the Pharisees and Sadducees because they failed to recognize the time of His coming. In Matthew 16 Jesus said to them, “When it is evening you say, 'It will be fair weather, for the sky is red'; and in the morning, 'It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.' Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.”
And near the end of His ministry, as Jesus drew near Jerusalem, where He would soon be crucified, He wept over it, saying, "If you had known, even you, especially in this your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.” In other words, Jesus held the people accountable to know the prophecies anticipating His first coming.
Now consider this: The Bible has more to say about these last days then any other period in history. If you’ve been a Christian for several years and are not yet acquainted with these Bible prophecies, now is the time to study. Jesus said “be ready” and “watch.” If you do, not only will you be ready, but you’ll also be equipped to warn others. Because prophecy validates God’s Word, it is vital that we use biblical prophecies when evangelizing. In the next few programs we’ll discuss ways to use last days’ prophecies to awaken those who are asleep.
