Jesus said “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
This radio program is called Eternal Perspective. When it comes to your wallet, do you have an eternal perspective? Are you spending and being spent for the sake of the gospel? Is your priority glorifying the Lord by laying up treasure in heaven? More than once people have been surprised that we give away nice quality books, DVD’s, and Bibles. It seems that some Christians believe this is a waste. And I do realize that some materials are wasted. But is there anything more important than sharing the gospel? Shouldn’t we invest not only our time and talent, but also our treasure into eternal souls?
Paul writes, “For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Is it not even you in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at His coming?” Paul invested in eternal souls, and so must we. Remember, one soul will outlast and outweigh all the kingdoms of this world. So invest in eternal souls, and store up treasure in heaven.
