We were at a local university the other day with a video camera. Interviewing students concerning the Bible and eternal matters is a great way to share. I approached a group of students and invited them over. They all said no, but as I was turning away, another man came up to me and asked what we were doing. I told him and he said he would like to talk about eternal matters.
It turns out this young man was from India and was raised Hindu. However he had doubts concerning Hinduism. We had an amazing conversation. I explained the gospel by starting in Genesis, moving through the Law and then the Prophets, and then presented the Good News of salvation through Jesus Christ. This man’s heart was soft, he desired the truth, he became convicted, he was not far from the Kingdom of God.
Why is this story important? Often when witnessing, we are asked by a skeptic, “Will those who have never heard the gospel go to hell?” The answer is simple. God has given light to every man through creation and conscience. If they respond to this light by seeking the Creator, God will give them more light and lead them to salvation. This man is one of countless examples. We can be sure that all of God’s ways are righteous and true. For our part, we simply need to be faithful.
