I fell into bed exhausted knowing that tomorrow would be day two of our outreach. My sleep was fitful, but during one block of sleep I had a vivid dream. In the dream I was at the outreach and I ran into an old friend and gave him our latest evangelistic video.
When I arose that morning to get ready for the outreach, I forgot all about the dream. But later that day as I was witnessing, there was my friend from the dream. I was amazed and excited! We spoke for a moment and then I said to him, “Dennis, I had a dream about you last night.” He replied “Really!” I said “Yes. And in the dream I gave you our new video.” He replied “I guess I better get it then.” We spoke for a couple moments, I gave him the video, and then he left. Since then I’ve prayed for him several times and know the Lord’s hand is on him.
Why do I share this story? Well as the Lord’s return draws near, more and more people are seeking signs, wonders, and experiences, rather than seeking the Lord and obeying His Word. However, Jesus said signs would follow believers, not the other way around. Resolve to follow the Lord and diligently obey the Great Commission. Signs will follow us, but we should never seek after them.
