Hopefully you are blessed to attend a fellowship that magnifies God’s Word and glorifies the Lord Jesus exclusively. Perhaps you look at time spent there as a time of refreshing and refilling – and of course it should be. But do you know being a witness for Jesus is a full-time commission – even at church?
One morning at service I spotted a man and flags went up in my spirit. I prayed for him and then approached him and introduced myself. His mind appeared preoccupied. He didn’t seem to hear a word that I said. I tried to share some convicting Bible passages, but I could see his attention was elsewhere. Prayer seemed to be what he needed. It turns out that he was involved in a continuing sin with no indication of godly sorrow or repentance. Here was a man who was attending a good, Bible-based fellowship, but he was numb to the truth. Or was he? I knew I was to pray for him. Since then God has raised up other believers to warn him. And the last time our paths crossed his conscience appeared to be awakening. I believe the Lord will yet break through.
Remember, Jesus told His disciples, “You shall be witnesses to Me.” He didn’t say you should be my witnesses. We are His witnesses 24/7. Pray for opportunities at church this week. God will use you.
