One of my favorite hero’s in the Bible is Daniel. Daniel was deported to a foreign nation, forced to serve under a pagan king, required to learn a new language and new customs, and he would never marry or have children. Yet, during his long life, not one complaint is recorded by Daniel.
How did God use His faithful servant? To begin with, Daniel was promoted and made ruler over the whole province of Babylon. As a result of Daniel and his three friend’s faithful witness, King Nebuchadnezzar declared in writing to all people, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth, that the Most High God’s kingdom is an everlasting kingdom and His dominion is forever. Nebuchadnezzar even praises and honors the King of heaven, declaring that all His works are truth and His ways justice. Many years later, serving under Darius, King of Persia, Daniel’s faithful witness again results in Darius writing to all peoples, nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: decreeing that in every dominion of his kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end.
How many souls were saved as a result will be known in heaven. So if you’re in the lion’s den today, thank the Lord, and trust Him to use your witness to declare the gospel.
