Every Christian desires to reach the lost. We have received the greatest gift possible – the gift of everlasting life – and we ache to see those around us receive this indescribable gift. Many Christians say the hardest part to witnessing is to open a discussion regarding the things of God. In this program we will look at several ways to start a conversation that can open the door to share the gospel. One simple way to begin a conversation with acquaintances is by asking questions. Most people like to talk about themselves, so the right question can open the door to a conversation that the Lord can quickly swing to the spiritual realm. Here are three good opening questions that work well. 1) What do you think is on the other side when you die? Listen and pray as they respond, trust the Lord to guide the conversation. 2) Where are you on your spiritual journey? This question will reveal their religious background in a non-confrontational manner. 3) What is the only thing that will matter a million years from now? This will get them thinking about eternity. All of these are non-offensive questions that can be used in any format and setting. Many times I have asked these types of questions and was amazed at how the Lord planted eternal seeds in the conversation that ensued. Start a conversation and watch how quickly the Lord opens the door.
